# Your first 10 minutes

> A short route from Home to your first Action and your first answer from Beacon.

You do not need to learn everything at once. This route takes about ten minutes and touches the places you will use most.

**1. Look at Home**

**Home** is where you land. It shows four figures about your own work (Active projects, Open actions, Completed and Overdue), your **My actions** list with Upcoming, Overdue and Completed tabs, **Project progress**, your **My week ahead**, and recent activity. Open any item to see the work behind it.

**2. Open My actions**

Choose **My actions** in the sidebar. Your open Actions are grouped by when they fall due, starting with Overdue. Open one to see it in the record panel. Read more in [Actions](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/work/actions.md).

**3. Open a Project**

Choose **Projects** and open one you belong to. Its tabs, such as Overview, Actions and Files, show everything for that body of work in one place. Read more in [Projects](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/work/projects.md).

**4. Ask Beacon something**

Choose **Beacon**. In the box, ask a question about your work, for example "What is overdue for me this week?". Beacon answers from what you can already see. Read more in [Chat with Beacon](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/beacon/chat.md).

**5. Bring in a file**

In the Beacon box, choose **Add** (the plus button) and then **Attach files**. Ask Beacon to summarise the file or pull out the questions it leaves open.

**6. Set how you want to be addressed**

Open **Settings > Account**. Tell Beacon what to call you and add any standing instructions, such as "keep explanations brief". See [Instructions](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/admin/instructions.md) for how personal, Project and Organisation instructions combine.

**7. Connect a system you use**

Open **Settings > Connectors**, choose a connector, and sign in. Beacon can then read and act in that system, within the permissions you set. Read more in [Connectors](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/beacon/connectors.md).

> Not sure where something is? Open **Help & resources** at the bottom of the sidebar, or read [Finding your way around](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/finding-your-way-around.md).
