# Finding your way around

> What each place in the sidebar is for, and who sees it.

The sidebar is the same for everyone in structure, but it only offers the places your role and your Organisation allow. If a place you expect is missing, see [FAQ](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/help/faq.md).

## Your own places

These sit at the top of the sidebar.

| Place | What it is for |
| - | - |
| **Home** | Where you land. An overview of your own work, with links into the work behind each figure. |
| **Beacon** | Your assistant. Its own sidebar lists your chats and Projects. See [Chat with Beacon](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/beacon/chat.md). |
| **Inbox** | What is addressed to you: mentions, assignments and replies. Read and reply here. |
| **My actions** | Your own open Actions, grouped by when they are due. |
| **Favorites** | The Projects and Actions you have starred for quick access. |
| **Creations** | Everything you made or were given, such as files and images, with a filter for the type. Tabs separate All, Yours and Shared with you. |
| **Notifications** | A dated list of updates on the work and Projects you follow. |

## Your Organisation's places

Below your own places, the sidebar groups the Organisation's shared places.

| Place | What it is for |
| - | - |
| **Company Overview** | How the company's work stands. It is offered to the Admins and the people they invite. |
| **Projects** | Every Project you can open. Each Project has its own people, files and Actions. |
| **Actions** | The company-wide table of Actions. It is offered to Admins and to managers who have people reporting to them. Everyone else works from My actions and from each Project's own Actions. |
| **Files** | Stored files, plus drives connected to your Organisation such as OneDrive and SharePoint, which are read live and never copied. |
| **Contacts** | The business people and companies your Organisation works with. They are not the same as members. See [Companies and people](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/work/companies-and-people.md). |
| **Members** | Who is in the Organisation, their teams, and what each role may do. |
| **Activity** | A feed of changes across the work you are allowed to see. |

The **Projects** group lists your Projects alphabetically, with a "+N more" row that opens the whole list and a plus button to start a new one. The **Teams** group lists the teams you belong to. **Archive** holds archived work and the Bin. **Templates** holds the boards new Projects start from.

## Products

If your Organisation holds a specialist product, choose it from the app switcher at the top of the sidebar. Choosing a product opens it with its own sidebar. A product your Organisation does not yet have is not offered. Anything shown with a padlock and "Coming soon" is not yet available to your Organisation.

## The foot of the sidebar

* **Help & resources** opens the help panel, where you can search guides, send Support & feedback and follow your requests. See [Contact Support](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/help/contact-support.md).
* **Settings** opens as a window over whichever page you are on. See below.
* The **account menu** shows your usage, your profile, a Light, Dark or System theme choice, keyboard shortcuts (press `?`) and What's new, and ends with **Sign out**.

## Settings

Settings opens over your current page and closes back to it. It has up to four groups.

* **Preferences**: General, Account, Privacy & data, Memory, Usage & plan, and Saphion in other AI tools.
* **Customise**: [Skills](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/beacon/skills.md) and [Connectors](https://docs.saphion.co.uk/beacon/connectors.md).
* **Organisation**, for Admins: Company, Members & teams, Instructions, Projects, Approvals, Connectors, Usage & billing, Data & privacy and Audit.
* **Staff**, for Saphion staff only.

## Search

Use the search at the top of the page to find Projects, Files and records across the places you can open. Some places, such as Projects and Files, have their own search in their sidebar.
